Mr. Wall has dedicated more than 22 years to refining his expertise in all facets of the homebuilding field. During his remarkable career, he worked for several large national homebuilders before founding Wall Homes in 2005. In just two years, the company has grown from zero to more than 40 neighborhoods in five major Texas cities---Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.
Mr. Wall, whose first experience in construction was assisting his father, a bricklayer, is widely known for pioneering affordable housing throughout Texas and Georgia. After completing his education and gaining invaluable experience through intensive apprenticeships with builders in the Midwest and Southwest, Steve returned to his native Arlington, Texas, to explore sales for an expanding privately-held homebuilder. There, he served in several capacities. Mr. Wall became their regional vice president in 1995 and eventually served as the company’s chief operating officer, president, and chief executive. Under Mr. Wall’s leadership, that organization rose to number 18 among the largest U.S. homebuilding companies.
Achieving his lifelong dream of creating his own company was next. Mr. Wall, pointedly focused on creating innovatively designed homes with architectural flair while fostering the concept of attainable luxury, opened the doors of Wall Homes in April of 2005. In June 2007, Mr. Wall nearly doubled the size of Wall Homes by purchasing the assets of the Dallas Fort Worth Division of Newmark Homes, a subsidiary of TOUSA [NYSE: TOA]. As a result of the acquisition, Wall’s D/FW operations jumped from 11 active neighborhoods to 33 and increased lots statewide under Wall Homes control by over 75 percent.
Mr. Wall's business acumen is equaled only by his commitment in the volunteer sector. A supporter of civic and community efforts throughout Texas, Steve Wall serves on the Executive Board of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association. In addition, he is a strong proponent for education, serving on the board of regents for The Oakridge School in Arlington. He and his family are members of First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, where he works with or heads various committee endeavors.
Mr. Wall completed the Executive Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School in November of 2001.
